Desert Dove Christian Church is proud to welcome Rev.
Allen Cunningham to the position of Pastor-Developer beginning July 1, 2003.
Allen Cunningham is an ordained Disciples of Christ
minister, having completed his Masters of Divinity at Brite divinity School
at Texas Christian University. He was ordained by The Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ) in Arizona and Saguaro Christian Church in Tucson,
Arizona. He is married and he and his wife Rosy have three children and five
grandchildren, with a sixth due in August.
Following ordination, Allen completed one year as a
Chaplain Resident in Clinical Pastoral Education at Children’s Medical
Center in Dallas, Texas. He served as Associate Minister for Youth at Casas
Adobes Congregational Church in Tucson, then as Interim Minister at the
Oracle Union Church in Oracle Arizona. He has also served as both a
volunteer and per diem Chaplain at the University Medical Center in Tucson.
For the past 7 years, Allen has been working at a non-profit organization
which provides grief support services to children and families who have a
terminally ill family member or who have experienced the death of someone
significant in their life.
Allen has training in Pastoral Care and Counseling, small
groups and Bereavement. His hobbies include reading and photography.
Rosy is the Volunteer Coordinator for VistaCare Hospice.
She grew up as a member of Park Ave. Christian Church and has been active in
various local, Regional and National Disciple Ministries. She is currently
the Regional Executive for the Arizona Christian Women’s Fellowship. She has
designed a number of logos and banners for the International CWF group and
most recently for the combined Disciples/UCC Women’s Gathering in 2006. She
most enjoys spending time with family, sewing, and putting together jigsaw
puzzles.
Allen and Rosy have long been close to the heart of
Desert Dove. We are blessed with their presence and look forward to a bright
future.
